What happens when sibling rivalries hit middle age? Is there lasting resentment from those who care for aging parents while others lead a glamorous life? What happens when resources run dry? Some of the show’s elements were inspired by works of Anton Chekhov, but the audience does not need to be familiar with Chekhov to enjoy the play. Full of clever and funny lines, this play also has pathos and heart, cementing the fact that you can’t pick your family so you just need to love and accept them for who they are. This play received six Tony Award nominations for the 67th Tony Awards, winning the Tony Award for Best Play.[ The play won the 58th Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play and the 2013 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play.
